Jim "JR" Ross
When the 200X Black Resistol Hat is coming, you know that business is about to pick up. That is because good Ol Jim Ross has entered the arena and it is time to start RAW. For nearly a decade, the big hat and demonstrative voice has been a WWE staple and J.R. is now considered perhaps the greatest announcer to ever hold a microphone. Like many of the Superstars he describes on television to millions of fans each week, Ross began his career announcing for smaller promotions before finally making it to WWE. He was once an announcer for Bill Watts Mid-South/UWF promotion and later became an announcer for NWA/WCW television when Jim Crockett, Jr. absorbed the UWF. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, J.R. was one of the top announcers in the old WCW and worked with the likes of Tony Schiavone and Jesse The Body Ventura. |
